A weekend in Abersoch

Scott and I recently went to Abersoch and I haven't had chance 9with the tearoom and finishing college) to post the pictures! We had an awesome time as usual, and here are a few pics to summarise what we got up to in those few but precious days :)
We both have matching crocs (not deliberately), though the size difference is considerable!
There are some cute beach houses down one strip of the beach, they're not as quirky as the others i've photographed before, but there's something pretty about the repetition of colour that these have !
I'm not sure why I'm so ginger here... I don't think my hair usually looks like this?!
It's nice to be able to paint my nails every once in a while, as I usually take it off for work (hygiene reasons) so if a have a few days off in a row I love to paint them again :)
We had THE BEST TIME CRABBING. I love crabbing, fishing etc, and Abersoch has the perfect little harbour for catching crabs on a line. I caught about 7 while we were there, and also an eel surprisingly! Scott on the other hand (with his fishing line and sparkly fish things) didn't manage to catch anything ;)
This was the little eel. I kept him in Scott's toolbox to photograph him as the crabs in the bucket kept trying to pinch him :(
These are the beautiful crabs we caught. I uses pork sausage, and a net with a line to catch them. It's something i've always enjoyed doing, as my mum and I would go crabbing with nets  when I was younger and lift up rocks etc trying to find them.

Here are a few instagram pics of the holidays and mainly what we ate (as usual)

My beautiful camera, and the pork sausages we used to catch the crabs ;)

Costa have brought out a yummy new drink - Strawberry Lemonade which is similar to a drink they had in america when I went a few years ago. It is a bit sickly and synthetic, but nether the less very tasty!

This is one of my favourite pictures of Scott! I managed to sneak it quickly why he was sorting the line out, and it really just summarises him 9the fishing, old man behaviour, Abersoch etc)
I still maintain that I will one day own one of these....
We had american style pancakes with strawberries for breakfast, which was delicious.

On the way to Abersoch we stopped at Pen-Y-Bryn in Colwyn Bay for a bite to eat. We had the platter which was lovely, alongside a portion of schips and a steak salad. Very highly recommended!
And finally on our last night we had a tomato, mozzarella and basil salad (which has become a new food obsession for us both recently) alongside a chunk of tiger bread and some pastrami, once again we ate like kings :)

Cheese on toast beth stylee

I love cheese on toast. It's one of those delicious foods that always makes you feel better, especially when your ill. This week i was not ill, but after making these as a snack before going to Abersoch a few weeks back, I have developed a new food obsession from them.

The recipe is from my grandma's cook book which she's had since she married my grandad, and its full of old recipes in a beautifully worn out handwritten book. It's become a bit of a family heirloom now and its been the source of many scrummy meals!
Ingredients:
1 egg
3 handfuls of grated cheese
2-3 Slices of toast (depending on how cheesey you want them to be)
Salt&Pepper to taste

This makes roughly 2-3 slices

1. Grate your cheese into a bowl.

2. Now whisk in your egg. Don't worry if it looks a little wet, it's meant to at this stage, and the egg will fully cook !
3. Add some salt and pepper

4. Toast your toast briefly for a minute, or until fractionally toasted. This is just so both sides are slightly firmer.
5. Now spread your mixture on your toast, and grill on high for roughly 5 mins or until browned. If your cheese has toasted too quickly, lower the heat to ensure all the egg has been cooked.
And there you have it! Wonderfully thick, creamy warm cheese on toast :) I find the egg lessens the grease that you can sometimes get from just grilling the cheese.

Abersoch March2012 part 2

Firstly we had to say goodbye to Seabear, who always hates it when we go without her!
I packed my camera, the charger, and the spare battery just incase this time.
It took 2 hours but finally we got there, with the buoys to greet us.
We ate out a lot for lunch, Scott likes a cappucino, I like tea.
I had grilled goats cheese on toast with roasted root vegetables from a nice little cafe in Porthmadog called 'The big Rock'
The next days I had welsh rarebit on toast (I just realised how much bread and cheese I ate over the four days) which was very tasty from a small welsh cafe in Pwllheli.

Scott had a meatball and something toasted wrap
As always we cleared our plates.
We get through a ton of orange squash!
And I get through even more tomatoe sauce, I am well and truly addicted to the stuff.
In one cafe they had these quirky ducks as table numbers which I thought was a great idea.
I picked up these beautiful hand painted vinatge scales from a charity shop for £6.00
And this dress (along with two others which I will post more about later on)
We found this lovely vinatge child's horse rocker for £10, and I couldn't resist it, I'm not sure why I buy some of the things I do, but when you find one off pieces, sometimes you just have to go for it!

Abersoch March2012 part 1

Abersoch is a lovely little seaside town in Wales, where Scott's parents' have a caravan. Over the weekend we went to celebrate being together for one year, and we have a wonderful time eating, exploring, and charity shopping :)!
Ive done this into two posts as I used my camera (Canon E0S) and my Iphone with instagram and they both give very different looks.

Scott's always at his happiest whens he's in Abersoch or 'the soc' as I like to call it.

Scott was lovely and carried my shiny red shoes as I was taking pictures and finding things in the sand.
Abersoch has these beautiful beach huts (which are mega expensive to buy) and they are all lovely colours and look very 1950's British Holiday-ish!

I like the one with the red and white striped door.
And the yellow one as it's the brightest colour :)
But.... what I love to look at most in Abersoch are the buoys! (excuse the pun). They have tons and tons of beautifully worn and distressed pink, green, white, blue coloured buoys which are tied to various boats and are kept in a large pile by the harbour. I really really want to take one home with me, and maybe convert it into a light or even to just hang from the ceiling.
I love the colours of this small paining. Scott took this picture, I think he quite enjoys the whole blogging thing now, he's good at making sure I remember my camera, and he likes taking a few shots of bits and pieces himself.
The daily contact lens!

This as a piece of a rotting boat, but I really like the flakiness of the yellow paint, and though it deserved a picture.
The same thing here really, I love how the sea and weather have taken their toll on the painted wooden boat.
We had a quick stop for oil, the blue of the plastic is very pretty.

Scott had been counting down until the mileage was '44444' but we forgot to keep checking, and the next time we did it had passed it and was up to '44446' which amused me, but Scott not so much ;)
