Christmas on Instagram

Here are just a few pics from my instagram account! I'm still rather a little obsessed with Instagram and find myself taking pictures too often with it. My profile is 'BETH2852' if you're curious :)
I was making cranberry sauce in the first two pictures, fruity curry in the bottom right and stuffing for christmas day, bottom left.

Scott and I went to the christmas market in Manchester again this year. The mosaic floor is in the town hall, and Scotts in front of the market and town hall. Below is Alfred my cat and Seabear my lazy doggy!
Scott and I over Christmas, and below a Christmas wreath from Manchester, and to the right the most incredible english breakfast we made a couple of days after christmas.

Instagram Diary

Here are a few snaps from instagram over the last few weeks:

Scott and I went to Manchester for a night when he got back from the Olympics, we ate wonderful food at The Tampopo (One of my new favourite places to eat) and Yo sushi.

We shared a platter with lots of tasty dishes from the menu, then followed by a seared rare steak salad, more Goyza (pork dumplings) a diet coke and ginger beer for me, and a tiger beer for Scott. The tiger beer bottles are so lovely, and they always make me wish I liked beer more... but sadly it is something that has never appealed to me.

While Scott was at the Olympics I went to an art gallery in LLandudno with my mum (Mostyn gallery) where they had these incredible polystyrene objects that looked like rocks, and were the result of what had been washed up on a beach and been weathered down to the size and shapes of rocks - they were really impressive.
I spent a lot of time with Alfred my kitten/Cat, and finally was reunited with Scott in Manchester :)

We went to a Chinese supermarket in China town, which I was in love with! They had such awesome food packaging, and odd little treats that I wanted to sample, but what intrigued me the most was the little shrine they had in the supermarket?! It was really pretty with little fairy lights and ornate details ( I like tacky kitsch things so this was right up my street)
We made chocolate fairy cakes, and American style waffles with ice cream and chocolate sauce for the tearoom, and lastly took my nephew Rhun to the circus that came to town. Sadly I wasn't allowed to take pictures, only this sneaky one of Rhun holding the gigantic snake.

Here are a few shots Scott took at the Olympic opening ceremony - The lucky thing!!
A Welsh Rarebit 9Posh Cheese on toast) at the Sugar Plum Tearoom, and Me doing a spot of shopping at Selfridge's.
I love instagram, with most phone apps i get bored and move onto something new, but Instagrams is still holding my attention, I particularly like the 'Waldon' effect which adds a slight blue tinge to my photo's.

Winter Walking

Scotty and I took the ladies a walk in the woods in Manchester.

Not the best idea to wear Doc Martins for muddy dog walking, but they were very waterproof and only needed a little bit of a clean aftwerwards.
The air was pretty chilly, but it added this lovely crisp fresh feeling to the scenery.

This is Ella tryi ng to chase a duck.... need I say more .
And seabear slowly trotting behind, as usual.
We are trying hard to stick to the new year's resolution of walking, and as it gets warmer i'm sure we'll be doing it a lot more.

We ate like kings..

Over the weekend Scott and I went to Manchester... again for my birthday pressie from Scott.:) As the title says, We ate like Kings! I forgot my camera (DOH!) But I used the instagram app on my phone to take these shots.
We went skiing to 'The Chill Factor', which is a wonderful ski slope with proper snow. We had a two hours there and it was so much fun. We can both ski (Scott's been skiing since he was little) and I've been skiing to Italy twice, but this has left us pining for a proper ski holiday now.
The Holy Grail of doughnuts : Krispy Creme glazed raspberry, so so so good.
Scott chose the chocolate version, but for his second choice (after sampling mine) went for the raspberry ;)
We went to Yo Sushi in the Trafford Centre for lunch and used our 40% off voucher from O2 moments.
My favourite is beef tataki, and pumpkin korroke.
We browsed Selfridges and were in awe at the lovely sweets and chocolates.

That night Scott took me to a lovely Italian restaurant 'Piccolino's' where I had grilled aubergine for starters, lobster for mains, and chocolate fondant for pudding, with THE most yummy minted mascarpone cream. It was to die for!
As we were meandering through the streets I found a new vintage shop : Cow Vintage, where I found a few interesting pieces.
This dress was from River Island, I didn't buy it, but I do love the colours and pattern.
This is my Cath Kidston Dinosaur Make up bag from Homewoodbound, Thanks mum ;) I love the dinosaurs, and this pattern is really pretty. These are my essentials for the weekend...
This was Scott looking at the view from the Hotel window. (We stayed at the Park Inn Raddison this time).
We love Manchester !
These were just a few prints I liked in the vintage shop.
I loved this red sequined vintage dress, but it was just too small !
This guy was an amazing street artist, I love his painting trousers, I kinda want to wear them for everyday use??
This was one of his finished paintings
And finally a a shot of the journey home. We both love Manchester, the food, the shopping, the buildings and the people. In two weeks Scott's going to see Thin Lizzy with my dad so we both get to go again, which makes me very happy.

Birthday Treat In Manchester

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to stay in Manchester with Scotty as part of my birthday present from my dad. We stayed in my favourite Hotel - The Radisson Manchester, had a lovely meal (I had Aubergine Gratin and chips, followed my crème Brule) and did a spot of shopping.

This was a skirt I bought with some of my Birthday money, I think it's beautiful.
This was the view from the Hotel window, Scott and I love Manchester, and we can't wait to go again in January.

The German markets are currently on there, so we had a little look round in the evening. It was completely packed and bustling with people, food, lovely presents and the smell of mulled wine and sausages. We shared an apple strudel with custard, and it was so tasty!

And finally, just incase I hadn’t already had such a lovely Birthday; my dad surprised me with this. His name is Pavel and he is the most beautiful shiny thing ever created. I am now the very lucky owner of AN IPAD 2!!!!!! How blooming cool is that.
