Popcorn Night

Last night Scott and I bought ourselves a bag of microwave popcorn and had a little feast whilst watching Family Guy.

It's dead simple to make in a pan, but we just saw this packet in the shop and thought we would be a little lazy and make it this way. I like mine with salt and Scott likes sugar!

We ate like kings..

Over the weekend Scott and I went to Manchester... again for my birthday pressie from Scott.:) As the title says, We ate like Kings! I forgot my camera (DOH!) But I used the instagram app on my phone to take these shots.
We went skiing to 'The Chill Factor', which is a wonderful ski slope with proper snow. We had a two hours there and it was so much fun. We can both ski (Scott's been skiing since he was little) and I've been skiing to Italy twice, but this has left us pining for a proper ski holiday now.
The Holy Grail of doughnuts : Krispy Creme glazed raspberry, so so so good.
Scott chose the chocolate version, but for his second choice (after sampling mine) went for the raspberry ;)
We went to Yo Sushi in the Trafford Centre for lunch and used our 40% off voucher from O2 moments.
My favourite is beef tataki, and pumpkin korroke.
We browsed Selfridges and were in awe at the lovely sweets and chocolates.

That night Scott took me to a lovely Italian restaurant 'Piccolino's' where I had grilled aubergine for starters, lobster for mains, and chocolate fondant for pudding, with THE most yummy minted mascarpone cream. It was to die for!
As we were meandering through the streets I found a new vintage shop : Cow Vintage, where I found a few interesting pieces.
This dress was from River Island, I didn't buy it, but I do love the colours and pattern.
This is my Cath Kidston Dinosaur Make up bag from Homewoodbound, Thanks mum ;) I love the dinosaurs, and this pattern is really pretty. These are my essentials for the weekend...
This was Scott looking at the view from the Hotel window. (We stayed at the Park Inn Raddison this time).
We love Manchester !
These were just a few prints I liked in the vintage shop.
I loved this red sequined vintage dress, but it was just too small !
This guy was an amazing street artist, I love his painting trousers, I kinda want to wear them for everyday use??
This was one of his finished paintings
And finally a a shot of the journey home. We both love Manchester, the food, the shopping, the buildings and the people. In two weeks Scott's going to see Thin Lizzy with my dad so we both get to go again, which makes me very happy.

Pretty Dresses

Over the holidays I had a much needed clear out of my wardrobe!
I send some to the charity shop, sold a few pieces on eBay and to my friend Georgie, and finally organised the rest into some form of order.
I hung up all my dresses (and there were quite a few!) along with my knitted jumpers in the closet, found a special draw just for my skirts, and then piled my less used items such as trousers, jeans t-shirts etc in another few draws.

I like how the colours and patterns remind me of different days out and memories from being worn.
One of my favourite dresses is my navy blue strawberry dress from Juicy Couture (Far left). I wore that for my R.O.A (a bit like a prom) at the end of high school.

I love colours, pattern, velvet, lace and just about anything that catches my eye and is exciting.
And it feels so good to finally be able to see what I have to choose from.

What I love this week ♥ - My favourite drinks

1. Elderflower cordial, I love this stuff, its so yummy. I personally like Bottle Green's version.

2). I'm not really a big alcohol drinker, but if i fancy it, it has to be Gin and cranberry, yum.

 3. Ice tea!! especially raspberry ice tea. I like homemade, and Costa's Raspberry ice tea,.
 4) Milk. You can't go wrong with milk. Milk & Cookies are the ultimate childhood combination.
 5) Pink lemonade, its just so good, and the colour so pretty too.
 6) Innocent's This water, lemon flavour. It refreshing, sharp and sweet all at the same time.
7) Lastly, but by no means least, good and proper British tea. Builders style for me.

New Years - The big 10.

 1. More day trips with Scott. I love them so much and we always have a wonderful time eating lots and just being happy. We like cities, countryside, beaches, just everywhere and anything!
  2. Walks, I love walking, especially with Scott, family and of course the doggies. It’s healthy, fresh and inspiring for my art. I like finding things on the floor and taking them home for very important 'art purposes' this is what keeps my art room so messy!
 3. Change my style slightly. I like my clothes and what I wear (most of the time) but this year I think I need to try something different as well. I love colour, Aztec patterns and dresses, but maybe need to experiment with other pieces too.

  4. Paint my nails regularly. I like painting my nails, but sometimes I’m lazy and leave it to chip for too long, so this year I need to stay on top of the nail maintenance! I am a biter, so they will never be long, but I don’t mind that.
5.Experiment with hairstyles. I am terrible for not bothering with my hair, I always leave it down and natural, which works for me, but sometimes it would be nice to try something like plaits or clips etc.
6.Blog More! I love blogging these days, it's just a fun way of documenting fun and happy moments from my day, showing you a little bit of what its like to be me. It makes me that bit more motivated to be creative and try new things to share here, and it's full of colour!
 7. Go to India. I know this one is a little unrealistic, but you have to try. I am fascinated by India and would love to go there. The colours, food, spices and clothes are just so beautiful and I think (From what I’ve been told) that it's a bit of an eye opener.
8. Press flowers. I've recently been interested in pressing flowers. It's more of an older past time and not done as much these days, but this year I want to try it out properly. All I have to do now is wait for the flowers to return :)

9. Watch more films. This is a fun resolution, but I think watching films is good fro inspiring you, especially
certain types. Coraline always inspires to make something, and I like to have them on to listen to as I work. But one thing I need to do is widen the genre I watch.

10. Kitten time!! Lastly and by no means least, this year will be the year we get a new kitten. After last years tragedy ( Harrison passed away) it is time for a new little baby. I love grey kittens, and also black and white ones. I cant wait !

New Fish

Over the Holidays Scott and I invested in some lovely little fishes. We have five goldfish and are in the process of naming them! It was a little impulsive on my part (As per usual) but they now have a lovely tank at my home and seem very happy eating their fish flakes.

I love the water bubbles from the filter in this picture!

New additions

After Christmas some new additions have joined my earring collection. I love colour, feathers, beads, food themes, and anything a bit quirky and different.
My mum bought these lovely cherry earrings from Hannah makes things (they have some really cool jewellery) I love the colour, and the kitsch feel to them.
They came wrapped in this tissue paper, with a little packet of Parma violets - so cute.
This is one of my favourite pieces from their site, along with the flamingo earrings I posted last month.
